Just north of Dublin is the Beaverdam Wildlife Management Area, presenting a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as canoeing, fishing, hiking and camping, spread over 5,500 acres and among beautiful bottomland hardwoods. Oconee River, which winds through Dublin and Laurens County, offers additional opportunities for water recreation. Other parks and recreational facilities provide hours of outdoor enjoyment for the entire family.

If you prefer the sporting spectator lifestyle, you are in the game. You can cheer on a Georgia collegiate team, with club sports at Middle Georgia State University and Mercer University, along with NCAA teams at University of Georgia, Georgia Tech University and Georgia Southern. Pro sports more your speed? Atlanta’s teams, including the NFL Falcons, MLB Braves, NBA Hawks and MLS Atlanta United, are just 130 miles away.
