The Smart Place to Be

Several educational institutions are close to Heart of Georgia Mega Site, including Mercer University, Middle Georgia State University, Oconee Fall Line Technical College and Georgia Military College.

Heart of Georgia Mega Site is fortunate to call the City of Dublin and Laurens County home for many reasons, one of which is the proximity to outstanding colleges and universities. These post-secondary institutions offer well-rounded opportunities for students, faculty and staff alike.

Mercer University, located in Macon, is renowned for being an intimately sized university with the academic resources of a major research university. Offering undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, engineering, health sciences and more, Mercer is just 60 miles from Heart of Georgia Mega Site. Mercer boasts a unique program, the Enterprise Learning Partnership Program, to establish relationships with corporations, government agencies and organizations committed to supporting their employees’ educational goals and ongoing professional development.

Middle Georgia State University (MGSU) has five campuses, one of which is located in Dublin. MGSU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, bachelor and master degrees. The university’s mission is to “educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the region through professional leadership, innovative partnerships and community engagement.” For Laurens County residents, MGSU also offers online certificates and degrees, including a graduate degree in information technology.

Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) has a campus right in Dublin, offering a student-centered environment for learning, workforce development and ongoing training. OFTC provides an associate degree in applied science, diploma or a technical certificate of credit. OFTC has articulation agreements with many four-year institutions, including University of Georgia, Mercer University and Middle Georgia State University.

Georgia Military College has several campuses, including one in Dublin offering classes toward an associate degree. The college’s mission is to “produce educated citizens and contributing members of society in an environment conducive to the development of the intellect and character of its students.” A variety of class offerings allows students the flexibility to succeed, and there is no military service requirement.
